Made for the women who live here
We start with women from ethnic minority and Muslim communities, and every woman is welcome. For most of them the hard part was never willpower but the money, the nerve it takes to walk in, and finding room in a week that’s already full.
You don’t need to be fit, or confident, or know a single face in the room. No special kit, no experience. Come in your own clothes, at your own pace, and that’s plenty.
“I tried so many gyms but never felt like I belonged. Here the women are like sisters. I actually look forward to Mondays now.”

About Her Way Forward
Her Way Forward is a Community Interest Company (CIC No. 16948255) based in Wandsworth, South West London. We are women-led and rooted in this community. Every penny stays here, with the women who live locally.
We work alongside local partners including Battersea Alliance and Big Local SW11 to run wellbeing programmes that are affordable, easy to reach, and built around women’s real lives, not the version in the brochure.
Our sessions are suitable for social prescribing referrals. If you are a GP, health professional, or link worker in Wandsworth with a woman who needs somewhere gentle to begin, we welcome referrals. Contact us at info@herwayforward.co.uk to discuss how we can help.
Good things to know
Questions women often ask
What does Her Way Forward do for women in Wandsworth?
We run women-only wellbeing sessions across Wandsworth: a Fitwell movement class on Mondays, a free Weekly Walk in Battersea Park on Fridays, and Communi-TEA gatherings for tea, honest talk and simple health checks. It is low-cost or free, and made for women who do not feel at home in a normal gym.
Do I need to be fit, or to have done anything like this before?
No. Most women who come have not. The walks and the class are made for beginners, at whatever pace your body wants that day. You will not be the only first-timer there.
How much does it cost?
The Friday Weekly Walk is free. The Fitwell class is £5 and Communi-TEA is £3. If cost is the thing standing in the way, tell us and we will sort it out quietly. No form, no proof needed.
Who is it for?
Any woman in Wandsworth who wants gentle movement, company, or a space that asks nothing of her. We especially make room for women from ethnic minority and Muslim communities, who are too often left out of mainstream wellbeing.
Where in Wandsworth are the sessions?
Fitwell is at Kambala Community Hall, 126 Fawcett Cl, SW11 2LQ. The Weekly Walk meets in Battersea Park, SW11. Communi-TEA moves around local venues, and the place comes with each event announcement.
